We're back!

Brian & I just got home from Disney World at 12:30am last night. Today was a busy day spending quality time with the kids. Avery missed us quite a bit. I'll be posting all about our trip & other misc. stuff in the next few days... stay tuned!

Summer has begun... sort of

We have had some pretty nice weather this past week. Brian was in Texas for 5 days visiting friends, so my Nana came up to visit me & the kids while he was gone. We had fun playing outside, going to the Healthy Kids Fair at Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital and going to the Camas Youth Festival with some friends. Here are some pictures of our outings.

We waited in line for an hour for these snake balloon animals! I warn you, if the line doesn't look very long, IT IS! Those clowns are S...L...O...W...

The babies were SO good. They just chilled in their strollers and watched all the action.

Avery wasn't feeling very well, but she did give me a great smile for this one.

Blake's Ninth Month Photoshow

Nothing too exciting to post this past week. Poor Blake has a cold again. Thought it might be an ear infection, but, I took him to the doctor today and it's just a cold. He's teething too and just isn't very happy sometimes. This too shall pass!

My crazy girl

I just had to share these pictures of Avery from the other day.

Every day, the closer it gets to bedtime, she seems to loose articles of clothing until she's down to her panties. This particular day, her friend Signe was over for dinner and to play for awhile. They were playing in the bathroom sink with water & ponies, and her shirt got wet, so she took it off. Then she had to go potty and her pants never made it back on. By the time Signe's mom came to get her, Avery was pretty muck "nakey" as we call it. I was walking Jenni & Signe out and before I noticed what Avery was doing, she was out in the driveway trying to catch rain in her mouth. What a sight our poor neighbors much have saw if they were looking out their windows!

Blake's 9 month appointment & slideshow

Blake had his 9 month doctor's appointment this week. Here are his stats:

20lbs. 4oz. (50th percentile)
29 inches (75th percentile)
Head circumference (75th percentile)

It's so funny because that is exactly what Avery weighed at her 9 month check-up.

Some of the questions that they ask you are so funny. The start out with, "does he eat well?" Yes. "Does he sleep well?" Yes. "Does he see & hear?" Excuse me? If he didn't see or hear, wouldn't I have brought that to your attention before today? The thing that scares me is what must have happened to make this their normal line of questioning? Anyway, she asked me if he plays peek-a-boo or pat-a-cake. Well, I said yes, and he does play peek-a-boo, but he had never actually clapped his hand during pat-a-cake, until that night! He can clap, clap, clap, and then, at the right moment in the song, he does role 'em & role 'em. I am so proud!

He is so busy these days, crawling/climbing all over the place. A month ago my prediction was that he would be crawling at some point between 9 and 10 months old. He's got 3 1/2 weeks to go. We'll see if I'm right!

Addicted to blogging!

OK, so I'm in the "addicted to blogging" phase of my life right now. It's just so much more fun than say, laundry. Anyway, I've been lurking on some friends of friends blogs and found this really cute idea. It's a tag, someone that you know gives you an assignment, and you do it on your blog and then tag someone else.

Keepin' it Real

Take pictures of the following 10 things. But there's a catch -- no prepping, primping, or picking up. The point is to see how these things/items/people exist in real life. Take your camera and just go for it.

1. my fridge - nothing too exciting here. Brian took the kids grocery shopping today, so it's nice & full.
2. a closet - I have so many clothes, why is it that I have nothing to wear?!?3. kitchen sink - Brian has trained me well. There's almost never anything in it.
4. toilet - Hum... yep, that's a toilet.
5. my favorite shoes - Franco Sarto's are the best!

6. my favorite room - all of the bedrooms in our house are my favorite rooms, but our Master takes the cake!

7. what my kids are doing right now - sleeping peacefully. (Strange look on Blake's face)

Hockinson Fun Days!

Even though Brian was out of town (training in Denver for 4 days), I really wanted to take the kids to the Hockinson Fun Days parade & carnival. All of our neighbors were going and telling us how much fun it always is, so I called up my friend Mary, and off we went. After a long drive trying to find a way in (they had all the roads blocked!) we finally found a parking place & a great spot to watch the parade. The weather was perfect and the kids loved it. We saw lots of animals (even a camel), lots of people and got thrown lots of candy! Even Blake was content just sitting on a blanket watching.

After the parade, we wanted to head down to the carnival. We couldn't leave our car where it was, so we had to drive to the middle school. Well, with the roads still blocked, that proved to be a very difficult feat. After another long drive, we finally made it. Everyone was hot & hungry, but we had a great time. Bounce houses, obstacle courses, a petting zoo, and a hot dog later, we headed home.
